Eileen Kinney Lindgren, LMFT and Master NARM complex trauma therapist

It starts with a deceptively simple question…

What do you want most for yourself?

I wish somebody had asked me that along the way. Instead, my life choices were based on what I believed was expected of me. When I gave myself permission to contemplate what I really wanted, the trajectory of my life changed. I became a therapist.

What to expect from me

  • I walk the walk with you. Like you, I am on my own journey of self-discovery. Over the past 25 years I have deeply engaged in my own inner work through individual, couple’s, and group therapy as well as meditation practice. I do these things to take care of myself, so that I’m ready to listen to you with focus, honesty, and tranquility.

  • My presence is warm, relational, curious, and sprinkled with moments of light-heartedness. My work is informed by neuroscience-based perspectives that honor the complex integration of the mind, body, and heart. I draw from NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Interpersonal NeuroBiology (IPNB), Cognitive Behavior Theory (CBT), attachment theory, and mindfulness.

  • I understand that life is full of opposites: love and heartbreak, joy and suffering, aliveness and collapse, to name a few. The single biggest part of my own healing journey was recognizing that my experience wasn’t one extreme or the other, but a complex mix that was constantly in flow. Instead of desperately clinging to the “good” or fiercely avoiding the “bad,” I learned to welcome all that I experience with kindness and curiosity. This subtle but profound shift can enable transformation, growth, and aliveness. I’d like that for you too.

My co-regulator is a hot cup of something in my hand

My second co-regulator is my dog, Rumi, who somehow bark-sings in her sleep

Paddle boarding on a (non-windy day!) is a very close second

A long, long time ago I spoke Japanese and played ice hockey
